The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
